Matthew 14: 29-30 Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
When peter was no longer focus and was afraid of what was going on around him he begin to sink. And that’s what happens with us when we aren’t focused on God but focus on what’s going around us or having doubt and we too begin to sink.
I explain to someone the other day and i think it goes well with this subject
We are in a shark cage bleeding while the sharks are around us waiting for our next move to take a bite at us. The shark of course is the enemy waiting to see how we react in our storm to take a bite out on us when we lose focus on God and his word and have doubts and question God we are giving a chance for the shark to take a bite but when we stay focus grow in the Lord and trust in his word we are protected in the shark cage
Matthew 9:20-22 women with the issue of blood
she was dealing with her storm for 12 years and her faith said if i just touch the hem of his garments I’ll be made whole
We as believers should be like that as well if I get into his presence, his word, if we go into a praise we will be set free, we will be healed and will be made whole.
But we don’t, we question God whenever we have a storm instead of believing that he will calm our storms even when we don’t see it because faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So no matter what the storm looks like your faith should says its calm
Praise him in the good and the bad
Believe in his word

These things i have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; i have overcome the world. ~John 16:33
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have [ perfect ] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [ be confident, be undaunted ( not intimidated or discourage), be filled with joy]; i have overcome the world.[ my conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding ( amplified version)
God already told us we will have trouble but to know he has overcame the world. So no matter what your storm may look like focus on Jesus and not the storm. What the enemy wants is for you to lose focus and have doubt. When that happens you sink, But if you stay focus on Jesus and not the storm you will not sink. The Lord can calm your storm, the question is do believe in his word and in him?
